DYCK

Trenton Joel Dyck, age 13, beloved son of John and Jennifer Dyck of Picture Butte, Alberta, entered the presence of his Lord and Saviour on February 7, 2018.

He is survived by his parents, sister Kallie, and brothers Graham and Gareth.

Trenton was born on September 15, 2004. He was an active baby, toddler and boy, with a big, hearty laugh that made everyone else laugh with him. Early on, he set goals and showed a quiet determination in achieving them. He was inquisitive of the natural world around him and developed a keen interest in reading science-related books, encyclopedias and textbooks, along with action adventure and science fiction novels. He read voraciously and often curled up in his dad’s reclining chair, deeply engrossed in a book. Many hours were also spent building Lego, having outdoor adventures and playing games with his siblings, riding his bike and playing outside with his neighborhood friends. He also treasured numerous fishing trips and outings with his best friend’s family.

Trenton accepted Jesus as his personal Saviour when he was six years old, and had a deep, quiet faith in his resurrected Lord. He often volunteered to help his mom with any kitchen chores, cooking and baking. He served his family and helped with children’s ministries at his home church, and in the community.

Trenton was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive and advanced cancer in late October 2017. He was cared for at home by his family, then spent the last 12 days in Lethbridge Regional Hospital in Pediatric Palliative Care. He endured many months of suffering and looked forward to seeing Jesus face to face. Trenton was able to make a wish through the Children’s Wish Foundation, and donated the amount to Compassion Canada – Haiti – Water, Sanitation and Hygiene project, so that children in Haiti will be able to have access to clean water. His vision was that others will come on board and help raise funds for this project so that people can be helped not only with their physical problems, but that they can hear and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of Trenton’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at the Coaldale MB Church, 2114 – 18th Street, Coaldale, AB. Private burial will be held prior to the service at the Coaldale Community Cemetery. Viewing will be held Monday, February 12th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Christensen Salmon Funeral Home, 703 – 13th St. N., Lethbridge, AB.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Compassion Canada – Trenton’s Wish, https://compassion.ca/trentons-wish.

WHITE

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Darrell Fredrick White, beloved husband of Ruth, and father to Amanda (Clinton) Cervo and Ella White on February 5, 2018 at the age of 61. Darrell is survived by his mother, Marion, his brothers Dennis and Gordon, his sister Janice, their families and numerous extended family. Darrell was born in Hartney, Manitoba and raised in Hay River, NWT until the family moved back to Hartney to the family farm. In adulthood he moved back to Hay River where he met and married his wife Ruth. They and their new family lived in Hay River until relocating to the Lethbridge area in 1988. Darrell was a passionate man. He loved and was committed to his family and his friends. He loved his golf (most of the time) and even curled his way to the provincial finals more than once for the NWT team. There was nothing he was not willing to try to fix and he loved working with his hands. He enjoyed being outdoors whether it was camping, fishing or even just to mow the lawn. When inside Darrell could be found restoring his antique truck or watching golf, curling or whatever sport was the flavor of the moment. Darrell loved to travel and he and Ruth enjoyed many trips over the last number of years seeing new places and making new acquaintances. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Coalhurst Fire Department for many years, and while in Hay River, a proud member of the Elks, committing many hours to the community. Darrell will be sorely missed by family and friends, but definitely not forgotten. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the MS Society of Canada.

The Funeral will be held at the Evangelical Free Church of Lethbridge, 4717 24 Ave S on Saturday February 17th at 1 pm.

ARSENE Mar 25, 1924 – Feb 3, 2018

Rene Arsene, aged 93, passed away peacefully and comfortably in her home at Cedar Creek, Lethbridge. She was predeceased by her husband George, and survived by her three children, April, Colly (Chuck), George Harris, granddaughter Amy, and great grandson Adam. Rene was born in Gainford, Alberta, a small town outside of Edmonton. She spent her early school years in the Edmonton area, and then started her career path as a student nurse at the Misericordia School of Nursing (Edmonton). Following her graduation, she and her good nursing friend travelled extensively throughout the United States for almost 5 years, working in obstetrics, surgery, emergency, and as an emergency air transport nurse. Along the way, she met her husband George, and moved to Lethbridge to spend her days as a wife, mother, and a nurse. Once settled in Lethbridge, Rene nursed at the Galt Hospital, the Bigelow Fowler Clinic and then finished her career in the Lethbridge Municipal Hospital. Here, she enjoyed the challenges of being head nurse of the Surgical and ICU departments, a director in her professional association in Edmonton, and shortly before her retirement in 1985, took a leadership role on the steering committee for the building of the new Chinook Regional Hospital. Her chosen career was one of her true passions and she served it well. Rene and George enjoyed their retirement together – and when they were not travelling “down south” they were enjoying many picnic filled road trips to visit family and friends. They both shared a love for community volunteer work and Rene especially cherished her volunteer time as President of Meals on Wheels, and her years with the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Rene’s love of dogs, and of being outdoors endured to her last days. Her generosity of spirit and appreciation of kindness and for the simple things in life were never far from her. She loved her family and friends fiercely and taught those around her the value of hard work, commitment to their chosen pathways, and above all….grace and courage in the face of adversity. The family would like to thank all the special staff and caregivers at Cedar Creek for their kind and devoted care of Rene during her 4 years with them. A service will be held at a later date and will be announced on the Christensen Salmon Generations website. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta would be appreciated.

VANDER HEYDEN

JOHN VANDER HEYDEN, beloved husband of Mary Vander Heyden, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the age of 85 years.

John was born September 12, 1932 in Gemert, Netherlands. The second son of Leonardus and Hendrica van der Heijden, John was raised on a farm in Holland with his six brothers and three sisters. Of these, he is predeceased by his parents, his brothers Leo, Piet, and Martien, and his sisters Diny and Christine, whose spouses Tiny, Leentje, Wim, and Theo, are still with us. He is survived by his brothers Henk (Trude), Anton (Annie), and Gerard (Elly) and his sister Marie.

In 1957, along with many other adventurous young bachelors from Holland, John went by boat to immigrate to Canada to settle in southern Alberta’s farming community. In 1959, he returned to Holland to marry and bring back his loving wife, Maria Loman.

In Picture Butte, John and Mary bought a farm and together they raised six children. John is survived by his wife, Mary, his sons Peter (Manon), John (Brenda) and Robert (Angie); his daughters Marlene (Brad) Mariette (Dave) and Pauline Simpson; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, with his family continuing to grow in size…

John was always very active in community building. John became a passionate supporter of the beef livestock industry and was a delegate on the Alberta Cattle Commission for over ten years. He was a founding member of the North County Interfaith Food Bank. John was instrumental in fundraising to build the North County Recreation Complex and with his playful sense of humour he secretly built a family of log people that quietly appeared in front of the Rec Center, one by one in the year 2000 and which for a long time remained a mystery as Picture Butte’s Millennial Family. John was the only Albertan to ever receive a license from the Alberta Government to capture red squirrels and he built large cages for them which he installed at various seniors centres including the Piyami Lodge, all for research into recreational therapy.

As a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, John was one of several people who received the International Patriot Award for his 1995 work to honour the Canadian Soldiers who helped liberate the Netherlands in World War II, a war he lived through as a young boy. In 2006, the Picture Butte Chamber of Commerce presented John with the Murray Kane Achievement Award, an award the Town of Picture Butte presents annually to a deserving resident to recognize their achievements and contribution to the community.

John Vander Heyden Sr. is now in our Lord’s hands and is dearly missed and forever remembered by his family and friends.

A Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 7:00 P.M.

Alma Wiebe

1929 – 2018

Alma Wiebe (née Reimer), beloved wife of the late Albert Wiebe, of Lethbridge, Alberta passed away peacefully on February 10, 2018 at the age of 89 years. Born January 26, 1929 in Steinbach, Manitoba, Alma was the youngest in a large family, and the last surviving sibling at the time of her passing. Following her years of growing up in Steinbach, Alma and one of her sisters obtained seasonal employment for about five years in a canning factory in St. Catherine’s, Ontario, during which time they also enjoyed traveling to various locations in the United States. Alma especially loved taking bus tours, something she also enjoyed later on with her husband in their retirement years. Alma married Albert Wiebe on October 1, 1955, initially residing in Winnipeg where Albert was foreman of a construction crew. All five of their children were born while they still lived in the city. In 1964, they began 14 years of life on the farm, followed by a move to Coaldale, Alberta, where Albert started his own company building houses and Alma continued to support his work, helping out in any way she could. Throughout the years, Alma was a hard-working, dedicated and loving wife and mother with a warm personality that made visitors feel welcome in their home. The arrival of a grandchild was always a highlight in Alma’s life. She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren, making each one feel special to her. Alma also had her own interests with activities including shuffleboard, knitting, participating in singing groups, and getting together with friends and neighbors for coffee. She was also an active member in the Coaldale Senior Centre and did volunteer work in the MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) store. In later years, Alma suffered various health problems including arthritis that often caused her discomfort. She spent her last few years in St. Michael’s Health Centre as her health declined further and requirements for a supported lifestyle increased. Yet Alma’s positive disposition and sense of humor shone through. Pain or no pain, she had a constant smile on her face and was described as a model resident by her care-providers. Alma is survived by two daughters, Laureen (Kevin) Hayes and Marcia (Ken) Janzen, and three sons, Alan (Melinda) Wiebe, Randy Wiebe (Laura Gilchrist), and Rick Wiebe. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Keila (Ryan) Lammertsen, Ryan (Kristin) Janzen, Michael (Alessandra) Hayes, Karen Hayes (Adrian Pacula), Jennifer Wiebe (Advin Omic), Kenzie Wiebe, Brett Wiebe, Derek Wiebe, Dani Pettersen, and Sarah Gilchrist; and four great grandchildren, Rebecca Lammertsen, Jayden Wiebe, Payton Wiebe, and Odin Omic. Alma Wiebe

Arthur Vance

1934 – 2018

Arthur Thomas Vance of Picture Butte, beloved husband of the late Juanita Vance, passed away peacefully at Piyami Place on February 14, 2018 at the age of 83 years. Dad was born on September 1, 1934 in Windsor, Ontario to Arthur and Isabel Vance. He was the older and only brother to 4 sisters, Carol, Janet, Marge and Verna. Dad went to school in Windsor until they moved to the family farm in Richwood, Ontario in 1950. After his schooling Dad worked with his father as a cement contractor, digging wells and a number of other jobs. In 1955, he headed to Calgary to look for work and met Mom, the love of his life. They were married in March 1957 in Lethbridge and moved to Paris, Ontario the same year. Jim was born in February 1958 and Frank soon followed in December 1959. In 1960 the family moved to Taber to work for Brian Sproule, then in May of 1964 we moved to Picture Butte where Dad got a job running a feedlot for the Canadian Sugar Factory. In October of that same year, Arlene was born, and their family was complete. In 1978, he started as a night watchman for the sugar factory and worked up to equipment operator loading the sugar beets. He retired from the factory in February 1994. Dad was very community minded, he served several terms on town council, was on the volunteer fire department and was a member of the Picture Butte Elks. Dad and Mom loved to camp, and Dad especially loved to fish. Every summer we headed out to somewhere different, the Oregon coast, California, Barkersville, B.C. and many other places. Dad couldn’t have been more thrilled when the grandkids started arriving. They were taken on many of those camping trips and even went on a cross country trip to visit relatives in Ontario. In 2002, Mom passed away and knowing Dad would be lonely, she made arrangements for him to find long term companionship with her new friend Audrey Smith. Dad and Audrey travelled extensively across Canada and the United States, including Alaska. They enjoyed many years together. Mom truly knew what was best for Dad. In 2012, Dad moved across the street to Piyami Lodge, then just lately to Piyami Place. We have been told he kept the staff at Piyami entertained. He lived a happy and fulfilled life before his passing. Besides Mom, Dad was predeceased by his parents; his son Frank; sisters Carol and Marge; and step grandson Jason Gergel. He is survived by his friend Audrey Smith, his son Jim (Linda), granddaughter Danielle (Blair) Ross, their girls Molly and Maddyn, his grandson Derek (Brooke), their son Jaxten, his daughter Arlene (Ken) Steward, grandson Josh (Mackenzie), step grandson Barry (Lorelei) Gergel and their family, sisters Janet Atkinson and Verna (Rick) Fries and brothers in law Jim Cochrane and Melvin Godlonton. We would like to thank Dr. Janzen, Monique and the staff at the Heart Function Clinic, as well as Dr. Mohamed and the staff at Piyami for all their love, care and support they gave to Dad. As per Dads wishes there will not be a funeral. There will be a private family burial at a later date. Cremation entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.

A. Eliza Cecilia Herle (nee Fieger), our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2018, at the Edith Cavell Care Centre, in Lethbridge, AB. Eliza was born on May 21, 1921, in Schuler, AB.  A few years later, her family moved to Prelate, SK., where she attended school at St. Angela’s Convent, an experience that started her lifelong passion for music and education.  Eliza married Peter Anton Herle in 1944 and they lived on two farms outside of Prelate before moving into town. While in Prelate, Eliza was active in the Prelate Hospital Auxiliary and Home and School Association, serving a term as President of each and attending regional and provincial meetings.  In 1967, Eliza went back to school as an adult, completed her Grade 12 and the family moved to Saskatoon where she completed one year of Teacher Training.  When the family moved back to Prelate, she taught Grade 3 for two years before moving to Medicine Hat, AB., where she taught junior high at St. Mary’s. Through many years of summer school attendance, she completed a B. Ed. Back in Medicine Hat, She resumed her volunteer work on the CWL executive, in the church choir and as Eucharistic Minister for 10 years at the Teoda Lodge.  She was extremely proud of her nearly 50 years of membership in the Catholic Women’s League. Eliza loved to complete large needlework pictures, crochet and knit dresses, including work with clay as well as painting many beautiful pictures. She entered her art work in the Medicine Hat Exhibition for several years and won a variety of ribbons.  Eliza also participated in several pottery shows, preferring to create porcelain pieces trimmed in gold.  Several of her large crochet pieces have been donated to St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Medicine Hat and a needlework piece to Covenant Health – St. Joseph’s Home.  In 2007, Eliza moved to Lethbridge to live with her daughter Annette;   in 2013, she moved into Columbia Age Care and in 2017, moved to Edith Cavell Care Centre.  Everywhere Mom lived, she endeared herself to the staff with her quick wit and ready laughter and was noted for always singing. ADLER

ALLEN L. ADLER died peacefully on February 11th, 2018 at his home in Lethbridge, surrounded by his children.

Allen was a Father, Grandfather, Brother, University Professor, Lecturer, Outdoorsman, Spiritual Explorer, and Collector of Collectibles. He was born in Washington D.C in 1942 and earned an Associate’s Degree from Baltimore Jr. College, a Bachelor’s Degree from Towson State University, Master’s Degree from George Peabody College for Teachers, and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Growing up in the playgrounds of Baltimore shaped Allen’s life. Having been a player, student athlete, playground leader, lifeguard, and coach all led him to become a teacher by default. As he said “no career appealed to him more.” He enjoyed working with people of every age, race, religion and ability level; teaching physical education came naturally.

Allen taught at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee for a year, and then moved to Canada in 1972 accepting a position at McMaster University; where he taught before moving to Lethbridge to join the University of Lethbridge Faculty of Education in 1975 where he taught until he retired in 2000. The spirit of the playground was present in his physical education curriculum, instruction, teacher education, and above all his family life.

His love of sport and outdoor activities was instilled in his children at a young age. From coaching his children’s sports teams, to family outdoor pursuits. Some of his fondest memories were spending time exploring, skiing, and being among nature in and around the community of Beaver Mines. Over the years he developed a deep respect for the First Nations tribes of Southern Alberta. He explored the cultural and spiritual history of these groups, which became a passion for him later in life.

He is survived by his children, son Joshua; son Seth, partner Nicole, and granddaughters Haven and Beau; daughter Meghan, husband Grant, and grandchildren Reese, Abrielle, and Addison; son Tai, partner Kasia, and granddaughter Juniper; sister Loretta Kaminsky, sister Rosalie Klotzman, and brother Richard Adler.

A private funeral service was held for his children at Mountain View cemetery on Monday February 12th, 2018. The family has designated the Canadian Association of Disabled Skiers for memorial contributions.

WHITEHEAD February 20, 1943 – February 23, 2018

JoAnn Meador Whitehead beloved wife of John B Whitehead passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta on February 23, 2018 surrounded by her family; her world. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother who was loved, is missed and will always be cherished. JoAnn was born on February 20, 1943 in Emporia, Kansas to Mary Marcella and Lee Roy Meador and enjoyed her childhood years in Wichita, Kansas. In 1963 she met John, a farm boy from Southern Alberta while he was attending Wichita State University. The two fell in love and were married in Claresholm, AB on September 26 1964, JoAnn adored her extended Canadian relatives so much that when they completed their schooling at BYU, she informed him that they were moving to Canada to raise their children and be part of the Whitehead family. They moved from Provo, Utah to Calgary, Alberta in 1967 and finally settled in Lethbridge in 1972. JoAnn never looked back. She loved being surrounded by her new siblings, nieces and nephews as they began to grow their own family. Together JoAnn and John raised 5 children David (Lisa), Noel (Tracey), Jennifer (Mike Harris), Andrea (Brian Knecht), and Patricia (Wade Smith). JoAnn enjoyed the jobs she held over the years as the children grew, but she was most passionate and renowned for her expert sewing skills. She took pride in making all of her children’s clothes and especially loved donning her girls in matching dresses. Over the years she was asked to sew for others, including baby blankets, quilts, machine embroidery projects, and even wedding dresses. When you visited JoAnn, you could be sure to find her in her sewing room working on the latest project. John and JoAnn were fortunate in 1999 to be able to retire and move to their forever home on their acreage in Orton, AB. On the farm they enjoyed the freedom of being out of the city and creating fond memories with family and friends. It was here in front of the stunning Rocky Mountain backdrop that they were most content. With a passion for music and a desire to relive her high school band days, JoAnn joined the Lethbridge Community Band in the late 1980’s and instantly felt at home. For many years, she played clarinet and then bass clarinet in the Gold Band. Enjoying her Lethbridge Community band family, she learned how to play the Oboe and continued to play the new instrument with the Silver Band until her last rehearsal on February 6th. The band was her second family and she will miss rehearsing and performing with them and they with her. JoAnn continues to play music in the hearts of those who have known and loved her. JoAnn’s faith in the LDS Church was important to her and she enjoyed many callings in her life, including Primary, Young Women’s and Relief Society. Some of her favorite memories were spending time with her friends and church community members at girls’ camp through the 1970’s and 1980’s. JoAnn was extremely proud to have served on Tuesdays in the Cardston Temple in recent years and wouldn’t miss those days for anything… not even to sew a new dress or practice the Oboe! JoAnn is predeceased by her parents, in-laws George and Melba Whitehead, and sister in-laws Sheila Whitehead and Debra Brauti. She is survived by her husband, her children, numerous cousins, nieces & nephews and her precious grandchildren, John (Stephanie), Darius, Kassidy, Derrick, Tenneson, Ethan, Noah, Ryan and Maizey. Her grandchildren were her heart and joy. There was no denying that. These ten little (and some bigger!) people brought JoAnn her happiest moments and are who she loved the most. Time spent at Grandma’s house was very special, building a life time of cherished memories. JoAnn, it is those moments we thank you for and wish we could have more of. The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, FORT MACLEOD CHAPEL, 643 20 St, Fort MacLeod, AB, on March 3, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Salmon and Sons Funeral Home, 433 Stubb Ross Road South, Lethbridge (entrance to the airport) on Friday March 2, 2018 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, or prior to the funeral service on Saturday from 11:30 to 12:45 pm at the church. Thank you to the caring and supporting hospital staff at the Chinook Regional Hospital Unit 4C and to JoAnn’s friends for their love and prayers. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you spend time with your loved ones, spoil your grandchildren and appreciate enduring friendships. JoAnn would have wanted that.

NO RUNNER

FRANCES NO RUNNER “Kaiistaohkomi” (Together the Thunders Roared) passed peacefully on February 23, 2018, after 75 years of service to the Creator and Family. She is joyously home now. She was born to Bob and Helen (Oka) No Runner on March 28, 1942, the sixth of seven children. She lived out her life in Old Agency on the Blood Reserve. She attended St. Paul’s Anglican Residential School. Frances was an introspective and intelligent person who loved school and had aspirations for higher learning, however circumstances at the time limited native women to gain higher education. Throughout life she kept herself well-versed and informed.

Lifelong duty to family became her calling, and in her quiet, unassuming nature she lived each day with purpose. After her mother’s passing, she cared many, many years for her father until he passed at the age of 97. Kaiistaohkomi takes with her the vast knowledge given to her by her loving father. Frances kept a meticulous home for her brother Donald through his later years. She was affectionately known only as “Auntie” by her many nieces and nephews spanning four generations. She addressed family only by their traditional names and often retold us how our names came to be. Throughout her lifetime, she was a servant to her many cats and dogs. Shortly before her passing, her dog Lexi got stomped by a deer, and Auntie lovingly restored her dog through its ordeal.

Kaiistaohkomi leaves behind her younger sister Della, who together shared the last 26 years of life. She leaves her nieces and the nephews who called her “The P.I.” and who sometimes weren’t always in her good books! She enthralled us with her knowledge of long ago legends among other things. Frances was a very private person but her love shone through her eyes and was felt by her gently touch and heard by her soft, soft voice. She was a woman of strong faith and would be heard loudly singing her hymns (when she was up to something!)

She will be missed by her adopted sisters, Marina No Runner, Bella Mistaken Chief, Gloria Day Chief and Fanny Weasel Fat. Auntie will be forever missed by her nieces Jennifer, Charlotte, Joanne, Cindy, Delphine, Sherry and Cheryl and her nephews Tom, Alvin, Calvin, Delvin, Clayton and Harley.

She was predeceased by her parents Bob and Helen; her brothers Lawrence and Donald; her sisters Nancy, Dorothy and Philomena; her nephews Darrell, Robert, Roddy, Dugan; her nieces Tawny-Jo, Morning Star and Harley Nova; her brothers-in-law Horace Red Crow and Gilbert Little Bear; her nephew Darwin Rusty Healy; her aunts Annie Day Chief, Betty Healy, Beatrice Weasel Fat and Edith Mills, and her uncles Steve Oka, Tom Oka and Mike Oka (WWII Veteran).

A Funeral Service will be held at ST. PAUL’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, Cardston, AB on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Michael Tipper, officiating. Interment will follow in the One Spot, Old Agency Cemetery.

GOODSTRIKER-FIRST RIDER

Marin Joelle

Goodstriker – First Rider

Singing In the Water –

Iitsooyanhkiaaki

Feb 28, 1986 – Feb 26, 2018

Family and friends celebrate the life of MARIN JOELLE FIRST RIDER born in Lethbridge Feb 28, 1986 until her journey home on Feb 28, 2018. Marin was taken from us before she had a chance to blossom into her true potential.

She will always be remembered for her unmistakable laugh, humour and her incredibly giving spirit. Marin cherished life, family, her friends and would do anything to help anyone in need.

Marin graduated from Kainai High School in 2005, where she played volleyball and basketball. Marin’s teammates remember how her tall frame gave her a strong advantage and not to mention her ‘killer serve’. She travelled to Winnipeg Manitoba to participate in the North American Indigenous Games in July 2002. One of her fondest memories was having the opportunity to play in a football scrimmage against the teaching staff, a memory she would giggle about years later.

Marin would be blessed with the title ‘Mom’ to two beautiful children, Dakayda and Connor whom she shared with Edmond Jr. a role that she would be most proud to be remembered by.

Marin was also known for her love of the entire feline species, aspiring future paranormal investigator, loud music, concerts and of course her beloved Pittsburgh Penguins! Marin’s unforgettable kindness and gentle spirit gained her immense wealth in friendships and all who knew her, loved her. Marin provided the best security ‘bar none’ for the Kainai Indian Day Celebrations for the past three years. Marin also enjoyed her time with the staff during her employment at the Kainai Food Market in the deli/bakery department. When you think of Marin, please remember her love of life, and her love of those she welcomed along to share her journey. Celebrate and remember her in your memories, and live as she did….to the fullest!

Marin, Mare, Jo, and “Big Bad Marin # 16” you will be profoundly missed. Until we see you again, take your place amongst all the other loving angels and watch over us…. As Marin would say, “I guess that’s what happens, when something happens!”

Marin is survived by her two beautiful children Dakayda and Conner, her beloved mother Kathleen, brothers Austin (Lillian) sister Kassia. Nieces Kianna, Heidi, and Aryanna.
