FLYNN

Grant Edward “Kelly” Flynn, at the age of 89, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Campbell River Hospital with his family by his side. Kelly was born September 18, 1928 in Stettler, Alberta. He spent much of his formative years growing up on the family farm near Passmore, BC during the Depression and WWII. There he learned to be an adventurous, independent, explorer of life which he conveyed throughout his whole life. Kelly married his sweetheart, dance partner and better half, Dorothy Elizabeth James (1926-2008) of Lethbridge, AB in 1952 and went on to raise three children. Kelly is best remembered in Salmon Arm managing Lakeside Insurance from the late 1970’s through the 1990’s. Wherever Kelly lived in Canada, he made the most of his spare time exploring the outdoors, travelling and woodworking. He was generous with his time helping others by volunteering with the Boy Scouts and many community organizations along the way, including serving as a councillor with the District of Salmon Arm, the AISH Appeals Board in Lethbridge, the Campbell River Variance Board and lastly the CR Shoreline Arts Society. With his outgoing personality and good health in his 70`s and 80`s, Kelly loved cooking on the barbeque and entertaining guests with his dinner creations. At the age of 82 he travelled a second time to Egypt exploring numerous archeological sites along the Nile river. Special thanks go to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Campbell River Hospital for their kindness and care.

OLEKSY

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of BILL OLEKSY at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the age of 91 years.

Left to mourn is Jennie, his wife of 63 years (to whom he was a fantastic loving partner); son Brent (Jamie), grandchildren Rick, Jody (Craig) and great-grandchildren Tesla, Nolan, Calder; daughter, Brenda (Bob) and grandson Chase; and youngest son, Barton (Cris) and granddaughter Katya. He is also survived by his sister Sylvia (Richard).

He was predeceased by his mother, father, three brothers and three sisters as well as his father-in-law and mother-in-law, with whom he was very close. Bill was born in Strong Pine, Saskatchewan, on October 3, 1926. He attended a small, one-room country school until grade nine and, when his family moved to BC, finished his schooling in Langley. He then made his way to Winnipeg to enroll in Teachers College. After graduation, he taught in many rural schools before settling in Swan River, Manitoba in 1953 to teach grades five through seven. He met Jennie, a fellow teacher, married her in 1956, and had three wonderful children.

For a change of pace, he moved his family to Lethbridge in 1967 where he managed the Super Sonic Car Wash for a year. He then returned to his first love – teaching. He taught in many schools, but his favorite time was as principal of the Dorothy Gooder School for eight years. At the same time as teaching and raising his children, he attended night school at the University of Lethbridge and obtained his B.A. He is fondly remembered as the teacher who loved to organize field trips and get his students to have more fun in and out of the classroom. Bill retired from teaching in 1987, but kept busy doing a number of things, including driving for Handi-Bus and working with AMA to teach driving to high school students. One of his favorite sayings was that, if he had to do it all over again, he’d have more fun!

Bill was famous for his wild selection of ties, suit jackets and mismatched socks. His collection of clothes was featured on CBC and was on display at the Galt Museum in Lethbridge.

Bill was also well known around town at Christmas, where he would stroll through different businesses playing Christmas carols on his mandolin. His mandolin playing was also enjoyed by many family members when he and Jennie would call to play and sing happy birthday.

The family would like to give a special thank you to nurses Kara, Katie, Doctors Plotnyk and Winder and all of the amazing staff on the 4th floor of the CRH.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held in the spring of 2018. Details will be announced at a later date.

CLARKE

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of ALLEN CLARKE at the age of 60 years. He was born on May 5, 1957 and raised in Lethbridge.

Allen passed away suddenly on December 2, 2017 at this home with his family by his side. Our beloved son, father, papa, brother, uncle, partner and dear friend will always be remembered.

Allen is predeceased by his mother Lois Clarke and survived by his father Ronald, son Cody (Ivory, Phoenix and Xander) son Kyle (Paige and Etnee), partner Launa (Lulu), brother Ron (Nancy and Terri), sister Lisa Lutz (Darren, Keanna and Tori), brother Jim (Deb and Miyah) and many close and cherished friends.

Allen was a proud man and affected many in a positive way. Anyone who knew “Big Al” knew about his love of cars, his need for speed and tinkering in his garage. He owned a transport company called “Greg’s Transport” which he purchased on December 1, 1980 and lived by the motto “my customers were always my friends, and this truck will stop at nothing to make them my first priority.” Allen had a passion for hunting and never missed a season; many will say he needed to perfect that “third gear sneak.” Among all these affections, his heart was, and will still remain with his family cabin at Duck Lake, MT where he spent most of his time with the ones he loved.

At the request of Allen, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Children’s Hospital, 2888 Shaganappi Trail N.W., Calgary, AB T3B 6A8, per Allen’s choice of charity.

The family wants to thank everyone for their kind words, thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

To all those who knew Big Al – “Well I S’pose!”

EGGER

It is with intense and overwhelming sadness that we announce the very sudden and unexpected passing of DARCY MICHAEL EGGER at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the age of 55 years.

Darcy was born on November 15, 1962 in Lethbridge, AB. He was – without a doubt – the most genuine, kind, considerate and loving person in our lives. Darcy was a father, brother, son, grandfather and friend. Darcy is survived by his daughter Amanda (Ashton) Ervin, his son Josh (Sasha) Egger and his four grandchildren – the loves of his life – Carson, Graeson, Sawyer and Isabella. Darcy is survived by his parents Martha & Fred Egger and his brother Dwayne (Judy) Egger. Darcy was also blessed to have many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Darcy was in the prime of his life and met every day with excitement, joy and terrible jokes. He embraced each moment of his life and put forth great effort in anything he did. He loved his work and was very skilled as a mechanical insulator. Darcy was proud to teach his trade to his son and eagerly watched Josh follow in his footsteps. Darcy loved and was loved by many. He often spoke fondly about his dear lifelong friend Johnny, and his new love, Melanie. He had a wonderful relationship with Charlene, and seeing the two of them blossom and grow as grandparents will forever be engrained in their grandchildren’s hearts. However, not much could compare to the special bond between Darcy and his sweet dog, Hailey. Darcy will be missed immensely. From his laugh, to his advice about movies and music; without him, there is a massive void that can never be filled.

A Celebration of Darcy’s Life will be held at ROCKY MOUNTAIN TURF CLUB, 3RD FLOOR – 3401 Parkside Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11:00 A.M.

The years he spent with Janice were some of his best. The laughter, the love, and happiness they shared remains a part of our family.

He and his wife Sharron recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He will fondly be remembered by his family for imparting the “rules of life according to T Fritz”, often unsolicited but frustratingly accurate… “Life lesson #1 – Life is not a free ride”.

Lottie Austin

It is with deep sadness but with gratitude for a life well lived that the family of Lottie Austin of Lethbridge, AB, announces her death on Monday, December 11th, 2017. Lottie passed peacefully at the age of 60 at the Chinook Regional Hospital after a long battle with primary systemic amyloidosis. Born in Baddeck, NS, and raised in Amherst, NS, Lottie was the daughter of the late Henry and Katherine Austin (MacVicar) of Amherst, NS. Lottie was first and foremost a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a devoted mother; her children were always her top priority. Lottie’s light, energy, determination and positivity were her defining features. She was an inspiration to many and maintained a positive outlook despite many health challenges. Lottie loved music and this passion featured prominently in all aspects of her life. Lottie held a Bachelor of Music degree from Mount Allison University, a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Lethbridge and a Master of Music degree from the University of Maine at Orono, and was a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar in London, UK. She was an accomplished pianist and musician. Lottie performed in solo piano concerts and accompanied vocalists and choirs for over four decades. In 2014, Lottie was a competitor in the prestigious Honen’s ProAm piano competition. Lottie was a force of nature and a woman of many career paths. First, a professional musician and then a teacher and administrator with Lethbridge School District 51, and finally thriving in the insurance and planning industry as an Estate Planning Specialist at CIBC Wood Gundy and BMO Nesbitt Burns in Calgary, Alberta. She was the Southern Alberta nominee for the Edwin Parr award for outstanding first-year educator. She held various financial services designations including CFP, TEP and CLU. She was consistently recognized as a top performer throughout her tenure at CIBC Wood Gundy and BMO Nesbitt Burns. Lottie was deeply committed to her community and was an active contributor to the Lethbridge arts community for 35 years. She served through Rotary, the Community Foundation of Lethbridge, the University of Lethbridge Singers, the Lethbridge Symphony, the Lethbridge YWCA Harbour House, and as the co-chair of the Music in the Making campaign in support of the University of Lethbridge Conservatory of music housed in CASA. In 2001, she was honoured with the Lethbridge YWCA Woman of Distinction award. Alongside her beloved husband, George, she also received the 2012 University of Lethbridge Senate Volunteer award. Lottie and George were recognized jointly again with the Joan Waterfield Memorial Award in 2016 given by the Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge. Lottie was a true Maritimer by birth and at heart but she also loved Alberta’s Rocky Mountains and big Prairie skies. Lottie cherished East Coast folk music, oatcakes, Maritime brown bread, and biscuits with molasses; anything Cape Breton and the Atlantic ocean. Many summers were spent on the Cabot Trail and at the Pictou Lodge Beach Resort surrounded by family and friends. An avid lover of the finer things in life, Lottie celebrated everyone’s accomplishments large or small, with champagne served in NovaScotian Crystal. An incredible host, she often brought together many in the community to enjoy afternoon tea, dinners, and parties at her home in Lethbridge. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 37 years, Dr. George Evelyn, and her two children, Katherine Austin-Evelyn (Sivu Mzamo) and Jeremy Austin-Evelyn; two step-children, Jeff Evelyn and Jason Evelyn (Carrie Evelyn); and four grandchildren, Charlotte Evelyn, Margot Evelyn, Ethan Evelyn, and Gracen Evelyn. Lottie is survived by her devoted family of five siblings, Charles Austin (Linda), Elizabeth Austin (Dave), James Austin (Sally), Edith Austin-Anderson (Bill Anderson), and Eleanor Austin (John Dever). Lottie leaves behind nephews (Athen and Andrew), nieces (Alexandrea and Jennifer) plus a large and loving extended family in the Maritimes. A celebration of her incredible life will be held at the Southminster United Church, in Lethbridge, AB, Wednesday, December 20th at 2:00 pm on what would have been Lottie’s 61st birthday. The service will be followed by a reception in Southminster Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lottie’s memory may be made to the Lethbridge YWCA Harbour House, a project dear to Lottie’s heart. The family expresses sincere gratitude to Lottie’s large team of doctors, specifically Dr. Morley Wong and Dr. Ernest Janzen (Lethbridge) and Dr. Victor Jimenez-Zepeda (Calgary). A sincere thank you also to the ICU staff at the Chinook Regional Hospital (Lethbridge) and the nursing teams at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and Sheldon Chumir Renal Clinic in Calgary, and also the Jack Ady Cancer Centre and the Southern Alberta Renal Clinic in Lethbridge, AB.

FIELDING

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, DONALD IMRIE ANDERSON FIELDING, at the Claresholm Health Centre, on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the age of 70 years.

Donald was born in Blackpool, England and spent most of his formative years in the Lake District. He immigrated to Canada in January of 1969, settling in the Toronto area. He met his wife Anne in November of that year, and they were married three months later. Their first son Chris was born in 1976, and their twin sons Michael and Andrew followed in 1979.

Donald’s flying career spanned many decades and continents starting with P.W.A. as a Second Officer in 1973, then continuing on with Canadian Airlines and finally retiring as Captain on the 767 with Air Canada in 2007.

Donald’s quick, quirky humour was legendary and usually caught most people off guard. No matter how long he knew someone, he always seemed to make a lasting impression. His fun-loving ways will be missed by all his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anne, son Chris (Jackie) and their children Clara, Harrison and Hanna; and son Michael and his son Daniel. He will be especially missed by his daughter-in-love, Tina, and also by Carmen and Mel; nieces, nephews and numerous family relations.

Madeleine Jobidon Cormier

1917 – 2017

Artist, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, photographer, gourmet chef and avid landscaper – true practitioner of Carpe diem.

Madeleine, the eldest daughter of Gustave and Eva Vandry Jobidon, passed on December 10, 2017 in St. Michael’s Palliative Care, after a long and full life in Lethbridge. She was married to Dr. Louis-Phillippe Cormier (Modern Languages, University of Lethbridge) who sadly passed in 2001. Madeleine is survived by one brother Louis Jobidon (Quebec city) and one sister, Josette Caya (Longueuil, MTL) as well as, her daughters Louise M. Cormier (David ‘Obrien, grandsons Aidan Cormier O’Brien and Olivier Cormier O’Brien and wife Jenn Liddell, Lethbridge) and Sylvie M. Cormier (Paul J.K. Smith, grandsons Winston Cormier-Smith, wife Kristy Closs, daughters Alexis Cormier-Smith and Isla Cormier-Smith of Airdrie, grandson Owen Cormier- Smith). Madeleine spent her early years in the small town of Chateau Richer, nestled between the coastal mountains and the St. Laurence River not far from Quebec City. She fondly remembered the fields, forests and rivulets that surrounded her, and they remained a source of inspiration for her throughout life. She was educated in Quebec City at the Couvent des SS. De St. Joseph de St. Vallier and the newly opened École des Beaux Arts in Quebec City (1937). After finishing, she continued working in the arts as a graphic designer and painter until her marriage in 1946 to Louis-Phillippe. She was a life-long learner in the visual arts and especially enjoyed her summers in Paris while Louis taught summer school to students from Michigan State University. In 1968, Madeleine made the move to Lethbridge where they built their dream home. In the west, Madeleine continued practicing her photography but was now smitten with the wide open spaces and the formidable plays of light which led to greater abstraction. She was also a lifelong member of ACFA (French Association) and the SAAG and firmly believed it was important to support cultural organisations as they support the non-mundane treasures of life. Good fortune smiled on Madeleine as she lived on her own until the age of 98 – the way she liked it. However, she needed help in managing daily living, she came to live with her daughter Louise. During these later years she was especially thankful for help from Marilou. We would like to offer our profound thanks to St. Michael’s, to Home Care (especially Carol Hudson, Marilou, Bambi and the many who helped), the ER and finally, St. Michael’s Palliative Care (especially Dr. Smuts and the many nurses and assistants who showed genuine care). Thank you. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, December 15, 2017, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4th Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta with Reverend Eva Stanley, officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.

FIELDING

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, DONALD IMRIE ANDERSON FIELDING, at the Claresholm Health Centre, on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the age of 70 years.

Rose’s life adventures included her early years in Hungary, working hard on family farms in southern Alberta and serving in the RCAF for three years. She was proud to serve her country and treasured the friendships and experiences of service life. Her adventures continued when she married Gordon and began life in the Johnson Brothers’ sawmill camps throughout the Porcupine Hills. Wherever she and Gordon lived, they created a home that was an oasis for their growing family, a place to come during celebrations and times of trouble and everyday family gatherings. Grandchildren and great grandchildren knew that visits to Grandma’s house meant cooking and sewing lessons, decorating Easter eggs, planting and raiding the garden, picking berries and happy times around the fire at the cabin.

Grandma loved the land and treasured family above all. Her greatest gift to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren is that she taught us to value these too. This legacy will continue to live on in the lives she has touched.

A celebration of Rose’s life will take place at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be directed to The Good Samaritan Society, Box 1510, Pincher Creek AB T0K 1W0.

Betty Illingworth

1923 – 2017

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, Betty Illingworth of Lethbridge, at St. Michael’s Health Centre on December 10, 2017, at the age of 94 years. She lived a long and full life. Many people will remember her as the face of Spic and Span Dry Cleaners, which she owned and operated with our father, Brian Illingworth, for far too many years. She was 86 when she retired. As Mom exhibited with work as well as life, she was not a quitter. While growing up our house was always full of people. The door was open for many meals with family and friends, and sometimes included strangers who had fallen on hard times. Relatives or friends attending school in Lethbridge were welcome to move in. Payment was never a consideration. Mom is survived by our dad, Brian, her husband of 72 years; son, Phil (Janet) of Victoria; daughter, Terri of Calgary; 8 grand-children and 2 great-grandchildren; as well as her brother, Bobby (Suzy) of Lethbridge; sister, Irene of Fernie and sister, Laura of Claresholm. Mom was predeceased by her sisters, Annie and Margaret, and her brothers, Harvey, Harry and Henry. As the matriarch of an extended family, she will be missed by many. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring. Our thanks go to our incredible neighbours, Alma and Charlie Berridge and Bryan Walkey. Without their help our parents would not have managed to stay in their own home for so many years. Thanks to Dr. M. Cassis for her longtime care and support. Thanks also to the lovely caring staff at St. Michael’s Community Support Bed unit. Donations may be made in Betty’s memory to the Covenant Foundation, directed to St. Michael’s Health Care Centre, 1400 – 9th Ave. S., Lethbridge, AB, T1J 4V5.

HURLBURT

ReNée Newby was born in Cardston, Alberta in 1928, to Cora and John (Jack) William Newby. ReNée was the sixth of eight children and spent her early years on a farm in Glenwood. The family struggled through the depression like most farm families, so when ReNée was 6, her parents embraced a new plan and her father enrolled in Reppert’s School of Auctioneering in Decatur, Illinois.

Upon his return, the family left the farm and moved to Lethbridge, where Mr. Newby established his new business at the Lethbridge Stockyards and ReNée completed her schooling. ReNée was extremely talented musically, and after graduating from the LCI, she attended the Faculty of Music at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. While ReNée was away at BYU, her father and brother Ted, also an auctioneer, were getting to know a new young cattleman working at the Stockyards. His name was Ken Hurlburt.

On a cold January day in 1949, Jack Newby was killed instantly when his car was hit by a train at a Lethbridge railway crossing and though ReNée was excelling in her studies, there was now not enough money to support her schooling, so she returned home and went to work. In May of that year, Ted arranged a blind date with his sister ReNée and his friend Ken, and on September 5 that same year, Ken and ReNée were married. It was a good match. ReNée, with her steadfast and quiet strength, was the perfect partner for Ken’s larger than life exuberant character. They adored one another.

Foot and mouth disease hit the cattle industry in 1952, so Ken and ReNée bundled up their two babies, borrowed $500 and headed to Billings Montana where Ken enrolled in auction school, after which they returned to Lethbridge, established a new business, and set about raising a family which grew to include six children: Jody (Ted Thaell), Brant (Patty), Darcee (Bruce Robertson), Kim (Kim Tillsley), Thane (Joy) and Heath (Dallas).

It is a rare gift to be in the presence of a person who embraced life with such elegance and grace, such devotion to family and such an open heart as ReNée Hurlburt. She was never judgemental. She was charismatic. People were naturally drawn to her because she really knew how to listen, not because she worked at it, but because she was sincerely interested in what was being said. Her responses were always genuine, considerate and thoughtful.

She had a wonderful sense of humour, an easy smile and never took herself too seriously. She had a mischievous side, she loved to tease, and was a great foil when the joke was on her. She had a lovely way of finding little everyday things funny…an attribute that came in very handy as she stayed connected with 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. She enthusiastically embraced new technology – texts, emails and Facebook were efficient ways for her to stay in constant touch with her family of 77. And she did.

ReNée was never without her satchel of needlework projects, and she always had more than one in the works. Every one of her 20 grandchildren has received an Aran knit throw, and 30 great grandchildren have received an intricately embroidered or needlepointed personalized Christmas stocking. She could correct a knitting mistake ten rows back and she was currently mentoring a number of protégés whose current projects will suffer without her.

She followed the sport of figure skating with great interest, and when her daughter was involved with the sport, ReNée undertook training and was an early level figure skating judge.

Many decades ago, and before they could really afford to, Ken and ReNée cobbled together enough money to purchase a cottage in Waterton Park. It was one place of the heart for both of them and they were unfailingly grateful for every moment they spent there. The other place was the family ranch just out side of Fort Macleod. Every spring, Ken would bring the cows and new calves close to the house so that ReNée could watch over them. She had an inquisitive mind and learned quickly, so she developed a good eye for cattle, and if you sat with her at a sale she wouldn’t hesitate to astutely assess a pen of calves.

ReNée was always willing to accept and understand that we all walk our own path and we don’t all think alike. That served her well, as she watched her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren make their way in our rapidly changing world.

Her wisdom gently guided each and every one of them, even if the lives they chose to lead were not what she might have envisioned for them. She found a way to make a meaningful connection, and every one of them benefitted from her caring presence.

ReNée had a remarkable inner strength, and it was as quiet as it was powerful. Her family includes six children, their husbands and wives, twenty grandchildren, their husbands and wives, and thirty great grandchildren. Her legacy will live on through them.

Following are excerpts from a poem ReNée highlighted in one of her favourite books…

Death is nothing at all.

I have only slipped away into the next room.

Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.

Call me by the old familiar name.

Speak of me in the easy way you always used.

Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.

Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.

All is well.

-Henry Scott Holland

ReNée was predeceased by her beloved husband Ken, her siblings Zylpha Davies, Qu’Appelle Gibbons, Jackie Walker, Et’Oile Newby, Ted Newby and Marlow Newby. She is also survived by her sister Marlene Hathaway of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and her sister-in- law Janet Newby of Barrie, Ontario.

The Hurlburt Family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Eras vanZyl, Trinity United Church of Fort Macleod, for his unwavering support of ReNée and her family, and to Dr. Morley Wong and Dr. Ben Storey, the dialysis staff and the staff of unit 4A, Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge for their kindness and consideration.

Those closest to ReNée will not be surprised to learn that it was her sincere wish not to have a service. Her inimitable style was to softly and quietly guide and encourage, always in the background. Her wishes will be honoured.

Memorials in ReNée’s name shall be gratefully accepted by:

1953 ~ LINDA PETERSON ~ 2017

Linda Annette Peterson (nee Jones), beloved wife of Douglas Howard Peterson of Medicine Hat, left for Home, peacefully on Sunday, December 17th, 2017 at the Carmel Hospice at St. Joseph’s Home at the age of 64 years. A Private Interment will take place at Stirling Memorial Cemetery, Stirling, Alberta.

Linda moved with her parents, Richard and Edna (Johansen) Jones from Lethbridge, where she was born, to Taber in 1956. She attended grades 1 – 6 at L.T. Westlake Elementary School, grades 7 – 12 at D.A. Ferguson and W.R. Myers schools, and attended the University of Lethbridge for 4 years where she studied Visual Arts and English while living in Taber.

She married Douglas Howard Peterson in 1977 and they raised their daughters in the Purple Springs and Grassy Lake areas. She was active in her church as a teacher with her 4 years teaching Seminary, her favourite. She was also a leader in Scouting and 4-H programs.

Linda and Doug quit their small trucking company to work on some of the bigger ranches and community pastures in Alberta where Linda loved the prairie, the cattle they cared for, the dogs and horses that helped them, and the hard work. For 15 years she accompanied Doug on horseback and helped move, rope, and treat sick cattle.

They moved into Suffield and then Medicine Hat where Linda never quite adjusted to city life because of her preference to be among nature, out in the prairie.

In spite of, or because of, her cancer she had the trip of a lifetime when she flew to Riga, Latvia for treatment and then spent 3 months in the UK with her father’s family.

Left to be reunited at a later time, she is survived by her husband, Douglas Howard Peterson of Medicine Hat; daughters, Jennifer (Austin) Tondevold of Pilot Butte, Saskatchewan, Sarah (Travis) Bramble of Smiths Falls, Ontario, Lori Jo (Gary) Schmidt of Suffield Sherena (Kevin) Short of Union Bay, British Columbia; and grandchildren, Rebekah, Emily, Tyler, Ethan, Dylan and Sam Tondevold, Joseph and Mason Schmidt, and Thane Nyen.
