Agnes Nikkel
1932 – 2016
Agnes peacefully entered eternal rest on March 31, 2016 after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage. The youngest of eight siblings, Agnes (Doerksen) Nikkel was born December 28, 1932 in Gem, AB to John and Katharina Doerksen. Agnes graduated from Chilliwack High School (BC), attended three years of Bible School (class valedictorian), continued with three years of college in Winnipeg, completed her degree at UBC and chose education as her profession for 33 years. Church activities, music, family, and travels were large components of her life.
In 1990 Agnes became part of the Nikkel family which, by loving and marrying Henry P. Nikkel, entailed moving to Lethbridge and joining a family complete with adult children, grandchildren, and (later) great grandchildren. Henry and Agnes faithfully served the Lord through multiple church ministries during their marriage and took every opportunity to get together with family. Enjoying her gramma status, Agnes crocheted beautiful afghans for everyone. There was a void left in Agnes’ life when she was widowed 10 years ago after only 15 years of marriage, but she had the continued support of family and friends. We are comforted in the knowledge that Agnes is celebrating this day in glory with family and friends who have gone on before her.
Surviving Agnes with cherished memories are children Ron (Celeste) Nikkel, Wilma (Jack) Neufeld, Dorothy (Ray) Frederick, Vaughn (Elaine) Nikkel, Gordon Nikkel, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, sister Betty Schulz, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects between 7:00PM and 8:00PM on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street S., Lethbridge, AB.
Interment will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM at EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 4717 24 Ave S, Lethbridge, AB.

SANDERS
THOMAS LADELL SANDERS, loving father of Shanon and Bill, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre, on Saturday, March 26, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 63 years.
Tom was born April 17, 1952 in Lethbridge to Ladell “Dude” and Alexina “Zena” Sanders. He married Wendy Berglund with whom he shared some wonderful years. Many summers were spent taking the kids camping and fishing. He also enjoyed bow hunting and was quite skilled. During the winter, he enjoyed curling and entered many bonspiels throughout Southern Alberta. He then found his true passion and love of bowling. He not only bowled, he coached and mentored many youth bowlers over the years and would have told you “to keep your arm straight”. Tom was a true to heart good guy and family was very important to him, whether it was biological, from bowling or his second family at Fountain Tire. He was always willing to help anyone.
Tom will be forever loved and remembered by Shanon (Lance) Littlewood of Calgary, Bill (Melissa) Sanders and grandchildren Austin, Kaylee, and Kaitlyn Sanders of Lethbridge, girlfriend Karen Bader of Lethbridge, siblings Diane (Greg) Sereda of Chestermere, Gary (Brenda) Sanders of Lethbridge, Brian Sanders of Edmonton as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ladell and Alexina Sanders and his sister Connie Nori.
A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at THE LETHBRIDGE SENIOR CITIZENS ORGANIZATION, 500-11th Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, on Saturday, April 23, 2016, from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to KidSport Lethbridge, 1001 – 3 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 0J3.
